Maria Ostapenko, MACP, RP(Q)
I’m a registered psychotherapist (qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach, so I use a mix of methods to fit your unique needs.
I draw from cognitive approaches like CBT, DBT, and ACT help you understand and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. For those who want to explore the root of what is causing them distressed, I implement bottom-up methods such as Polyvagal theory and Internal Family Systems (IFS), which focus on how your body and emotions interact, helping with self-awareness and emotion regulation.
I support the idea that a strong therapeutic relationship, one that is built on trust, is key in reaching your therapeutic goals. I also believe that a strong connection between your mind, body, and nature is key to finding well-being and inner peace.
